Rt. Rev. Mitred Archpriest Fr. Meroslaw Kryschuk of Blessed Memory

On January 8, 2013 Rt. Rev. Mitred Archpriest Fr. Meroslaw Kryschuk passed away at the age of 81.

He served his community as a priest and was a member of many different USRL/CYC family organizations.

Fr. Meroslaw of blessed memory was very involved and active in CYC, namely CYMK, TYC, UWAC, CYC, St. John’s Fraternal and St. John’s Institute, and in the CYC movement in Canada.

From 1973 to 1983 Fr. Meroslaw was a member of the six National USRA/TYC Executives and played a very active role in TYC growth during that time. From 1983 to 1985 Fr. Meroslaw was the National President of USRA/TYC in Canada. He was the first and only priest in the UOCC to hold this position which was accorded to him because of his commitment and dedication to the CYC movement in Canada. Fr. Meroslaw served a total of 14 consecutive years as a member, President and Past President of the USRA/TYC men’s organization at the National level.

During this same time period Fr. Meroslaw was also a member of the St. John’s Institute (1980-81), Chaplain for National CYMK executive (1981-83) and he was First Vice President of National USRL/CYC executive (1983-85).

On behalf of the National CYC President, Dr. Tony Harras, National UWAC President, Geraldine Nakonechny, National CYMK President, Katrina Slevinsky, St. John’s Fraternal, St. John’s Institute as well as Mohyla and St. Vladimir Institutes and on behalf of TYC National and all TYC branches across Canada we extend to Dobrodijka and your family our deepest sympathies on the passing of one of our CYC family leaders. We are very grateful for all that Fr. Meroslaw accomplished and contributed.

He made our CYC family better.
